Seattle’s Department of Transportation raised public parking rates this month in some neighborhoods — and dropped prices elsewhere. Here’s what we know.
Why are rates changing?
City code requires the transportation department to adjust prices seasonally. The department adjusts rates in 50-cent increments based on demand, a spokesperson said in an email.
About one-third of the city’s parking rates increased by 50 cents on Nov. 10. Another third of the rates decreased, while 71% saw no change.
