LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) - A Lake City man is facing DUI charges after police say he damaged elementary school property.
Officers from the Lake City Police Department responded to reports of a reckless driver at Summers Elementary School near Southwest McFarlane Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
They say they stopped a black Ford F-150 while it was leaving the school’s parking lot with no headlights. The driver, 25-year-old Jacob Ames, admitted to drinking and refused sobriety testing.
Officers say they noticed damage to the school’s gate matching damage to Ames’ truck, and Summers Elementary School officials confirmed the damage to the gate was new.
