HERMON, Maine (WABI) - Thursday marks WABI’s annual Turkey Telethon. Every year, we are blown away by the generosity of our viewers as we work alongside Penquis to provide Thanksgiving dinner for our neighbors.

One of the many organizations partnering with Penquis in the effort to get food to those who need it is Neighbors Supporting Neighbors Community Pantry.

The Hermon-area pantry has faced numerous financial and logistical challenges in recent years, but keeps showing up to support those who depend on it.

Volunteers handed out more than 100 food boxes during their last distribution, and they’re preparing to do it again in the coming days. The next pickup will feature the regular box plus a Thanksgiving meal box.
