WAUKESHA, Wis. (WMTV) - Governor Tony Evers ordered flags to fly at half-staff in Wisconsin on Friday in honor of the four-year mark of the 2021 Waukesha Christmas Parade tragedy.
Executive Order 279 will be in effect from sunrise to sunset on Friday, Nov. 21.
Six people died and many others were injured when a man drove his SUV through the suburban Christmas parade on Nov. 21, 2021. Those who died were identified as:
Tamara Durand, 52
Wilhelm Hospel, 81
Jane Kulich, 52
Leanna Owen, 71
Virginia Sorenson, 79
Jackson Sparks, 8
Gov. Evers said the tragedy changed the lives of folks and families in the community and across the state.
