YARMOUTH, Mass. —

The victim of Tuesday's deadly trench collapse in Yarmouth, Massachusetts, has been identified by town officials.

Miguel Reis, 61, of Fall River, was working in a trench for a sewer construction project on S. Shore Drive around 8:50 a.m. when the trench collapsed, killing him and injuring two others, according to a joint press release by the Yarmouth Select Board and Town Administrator.

One of the injured workers is recovering at Rhode Island Hospital.

"Our hearts are with both families, their loved ones, and all who are grieving during this very difficult time," the release read.

The cause of the collapse remains under investigation by the Cape & Islands District Attorney's Office and OSHA.
