ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - A big step this week toward one of President Trump’s campaign promises, eliminating the Department of Education.
Education Secretary Linda McManhon is changing how the government distributes funding to local schools. But one Virginia Senator says this is a step in the wrong direction that will impact families.
“We have failed in how we are educating our children. It has to change,” Sec. McManhon said Wednesday.
This week the Trump administration announced six interagency agreements that will move responsibilities from the Education Department to other federal agencies like the Department of Labor.
