EUGENE, Ore. - The University of Oregon celebrated two of its standout student-athletes on Wednesday. Matthew Bedford from the football team and Blessyn McMorris from the acrobatics and tumbling team were named campus winners of the 2025-26 Jackie Robinson Community & Impact Award, presented by Discover.
This award honors Big Ten student-athletes who excel not only in sports but also in making a positive impact on their teams and communities. From the 36 campus winners, two conference-wide honorees will be announced in the spring of 2026.
Bedford has been a community service leader since joining the Oregon football team. He has focused on aiding the unhoused community by distributing food and materials to those in need. His involvement extends to organizations like Sleep in Heavenly Peac
