SNOW HILL, N.C. (WITN) - The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is awarding schools across North Carolina nearly $400 million, including West Greene Elementary School.
Greene County Schools is receiving $42 million to build a new elementary school, replacing a building that holds many memories.
“I went to school here,” said Sharon Butts, a mom.
Christie Stocks, a multilingual teacher at West Greene, said the building has been good to them.
“For the age that it is, in the amount of time we’ve been here, this building has been good to us,” Stocks said.
Superintendent Rodney McNeil said he’s excited for the opportunity to be a part of such a great new change in Greene County.
