MOORHEAD — Concordia broke open the game with a 26-point third quarter in their MIAC women's basketball opener against St. Catherine, winning 56-42 on Wednesday night at Memorial Auditorium.
Maya Metcalf led the Cobbers with 12 points and 12 rebounds, leading three other teammates in double figures for points. Taya Jeffrey had 10 and Tatum Findley and Kaitlyn Rohloff came off the bench to add 11 and 10, respectively.
Maci Wheeldon had 10 boards to go along with nine points for Concordia, which finished with a 22-12 edge in points in the paint.
Hattie Fox had 17 points to lead St. Catherine.
The Cobbers shot 28% from beyond the arc and outrebounded St. Catherine's 48-34.
