Mum of young man stabbed to death encourages adults in Scotland to help youths affected by violence

The mum of a young man who was stabbed to death in a row over a bottle of vodka has pleaded for adults in Scotland to help end youth violence and knife crime .

Fearless, the youth branch of charity Crimestoppers, has launched campaign ' It Takes a Village ', which encourages adults to open up the conversation about violence with children.

The new initiative will see key messages about the long-lasting impact of carrying a knife distributed across social media platforms like TikTok and Snapchat.

Lynn Burns' son Sam Johnston died at the age of 22 after he was stabbed in the heart at a flat in Saltcoats, Ayrshire, in 2013.
