PLAINS TWP. — A fire was quickly extinguished at Wilkes-Barre Area’s Leo Solomon Elementary School and Solomon Middle School on Abbott Street in Plains Township early Thursday morning.

Due to the blaze discovered just before 7 a.m., classes will be virtual on Thursday, according to a post on the Wilkes-Barre Area School District’s website.

Plains Township firefighters were assisted by the Wilkes-Barre City Fire Department.
