CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Apartment units were damaged after a large fire broke out in south Charlotte early Thursday morning.

The fire broke out along Sycamore Creek Drive at the River Crossing Apartments just before 3 a.m.

The Charlotte Fire Department says 75 firefighters were helping to put out the flames.

Video shared by firefighters showed tall flames coming from the roof of the apartment building.

Medic says nobody was hurt and that the American Red Cross was helping residents affected by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
