City officials and police in Attleboro, Massachusetts, say they are investigating a "cybersecurity incident" that has taken several of the city's information technology systems offline.
"City leaders are working with cybersecurity specialists, the city's insurer and state and federal partners to identify the cause and begin restoring services," the city said in a statement Thursday afternoon.

Public safety services remain operational, and the police said residents should continue to call 911 for any emergencies. For non-emergency needs, they said residents can call the police department business line at 508-223-2950 or the fire department business line at 508-399-8693.
