NORFOLK, Va. — Detectives charged Pierre Delaigle, 19, with second-degree murder and use of a firearm following the September 15 shooting that killed Montario D. Johnson Jr., 19, of Norfolk.

Police say Delaigle is also facing additional charges unrelated to the homicide. He was taken into custody on November 19 around 11:10 a.m. and is being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.

Officers were first called to the intersection of East 28th Street and Gazel Street at 11:56 a.m. on the day of the shooting. When they arrived, they found Johnson suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Neighbors said the violence is unsettling.
