AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An 83-year-old Army veteran received the keys to a new home Thursday after losing his house of 50 years to Hurricane Helene.
Stanley Wilmot served in the Army and lost his longtime home when the hurricane struck the area. The Home Builders Association of Greater Aiken and Augusta built a replacement home for him.

Construction on the home began in May.
Wilmot said he was grateful for the crew who built the house.
“I never dreamed I would be walking into a mansion,” Wilmot said. “Y’all have done an exceptionally good job. I love y’all as far as I can appreciate it.”
