MILTON, Ga. — The nature trail at Milton City Park and Preserve will close to the public Monday to allow crews to plant trees, grasses and wildflowers along an extended route, city officials announced.

The closure, which officials previously said would begin Friday, is expected to last about a month while workers install vegetation along both the existing trail and a new extension.

Crews will plant numerous trees, shrubs, perennials and wildflowers over the next seven weeks along the Dinsmore Road property. The work requires heavy equipment and significant construction traffic, prompting officials to close the trail for safety reasons, officials said.
