BASCOM, Ohio — Postseason runs have become tradition for Hopewell-Loudon football. As the Chieftains approach the fourth round of the playoffs, their record sits at 11-1, greatly sparked by junior wide receiver and running back Brody Brickman.
"He's one of our top receivers and one of our leading rushers," said head coach Brian Colatruglio. "He really took over a pretty big role in our run game as the year went on."
Colatruglio said the team's No. 1 receiver went down with an injury in week one, which caused Brickman to step up and be their main guy.
"I'm a team player, so whatever the team needs," Brickman said. "And if it's me, then yeah, I'm cool with changing."
A few weeks later, another injury took out the Chieftains' running back. Once again, Brickman answered the call.
