BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Today, the City of Bowling Green approved phase one of Riverfront Park.

On Tuesday night, the Board of Commissioners approved the construction contract with Scott & Murphy, Inc. The 70-acre park will be along the Barren River in the downtown area. Construction is expected to begin in the winter.

According to the city of Bowling Green, phase one will focus on river safety and setting the stage for the other phases to come. Some of the amenities include:
