SCHENECTADY — The Schenectady City Council may have a new member as soon as Friday night, with the council , and resume its 2026 budget negotiations, in a special meeting on Friday.

Following to fill the seat vacated by former council member Joseph Mancini in August, the council will deliberate on his potential replacement in a special meeting at 5:30 p.m., Friday, evening.
