Dauphin County jurors convicted a man of murder Thursday evening after his lawyer spent all afternoon trying to convince them he acted in self-defense.

Jurors say Erick Boone murdered 43-year-old Dewayne Brown on April 17, 2024, in an intentional killing on Evergreen Street in Harrisburg. They convicted him of first-degree murder, intimidation of a witness, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery after little more than an hour of deliberations.

At trial, Boone, 29, made the risky choice to testify on his own behalf and admitted to getting into a fight with Brown inside USA Fried Chicken on the 1200 block of Derry Street.
