IRMO, S.C. — The Town of Irmo held its first public meeting this week regarding the proposed expansion of the Water Walk housing development, giving residents their first opportunity to hear directly from developers and share concerns about the project’s potential impact on the community.

The proposal, known as Water Walk Phase 2, would include 78 townhomes and approximately 20,000 square feet of commercial space located off Dreher Shoals Road. The expansion would sit across the road from the Phase 1 development, which includes 438 homes.

While community members listened to details about the plan, many expressed concern about increased traffic and road capacity in the area.
