INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Department of Public Works leaders say Mother Nature may be unpredictable, but the city’s updated snowplow plan should make their response more reliable this winter .

DPW officials outlined the changes during a Public Works Committee meeting Wednesday night. They said the plan clearly defines when thoroughfares, connector streets and residential roads will be plowed.

“This more clearly delineates where thoroughfares are addressed, where connector streets — those more highly traveled residential streets connecting to thoroughfares — are addressed, and when residential streets would be addressed,” Indy DPW Chief Communications Officer Kyle Bloyd said.
