The day is observed globally on November 21, following the proclamation of the United Nations General Assembly through a resolution adopted in 1996. India’s television network connects 90 crore viewers across 23 crore households nationwide. 918 private satellite channels are operational as of March this year, reflecting a vibrant broadcast ecosystem.
