Residents of Nambazo in Phalombe District have been facing persistent power outages over the past week, causing disruptions to essential services at the local hospital and affecting small businesses in the area.
One local resident, Sasinu Tsoka, explained that the problem started after two electricity poles were knocked down by heavy rains and strong winds.
“Some hospital services at Nambazo Health Center are not functioning properly because equipment and medicines that rely on electricity are affected. Even internet-dependent operations are disrupted,” Tsoka said.
