The newly elected Mayor of Blantyre City, Isaac Jomo Osman, has issued a stern warning to business operators over more than K8 billion in unpaid rates, giving them 21 days to settle their dues or face legal action.
Speaking to the media, Mayor Osman emphasised that the council is committed to restoring order and vibrancy in Malawi’s commercial capital. “We are serious about city development and accountability. Business operators must pay their dues to ensure we can improve services for all residents,” he said.
