An octogenarian was sent to prison earlier this year, despite a long list of health issues because, said the Brantford judge, prisons are well-equipped to deal with the problems of most senior offenders.
The now-82-year-old man and his young victim were seen by another man who glanced into a car in June 2024 and reported his shocking observations to police.
“An independent witness walked by and saw a little girl on (the man’s) lap, with no pants, no underwear and he was touching her,” said assistant Crown attorney Janice Kim.
The witness was able to give police a vehicle description and licence plate so police quickly located the Paris man.
