A woman who was part of a group of runners was critically injured when she was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street on Thursday night in Portland, Maine.
Portland police said they responded to a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Franklin Street at the intersection of Marginal Way shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday.

A 75-year-old woman from Portland had been struck by a vehicle while crossing Franklin Street. Police said mutiple witnesses told them the woman had been running with others, all of whom crossed the street against the traffic signal at the time she was struck.
