PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. – Hundreds of chickens spread across I-5 near Mounts Road after a semi truck carrying them crashed and overturned, according to Washington State Patrol District 1.

At 4:25 a.m., troopers said a semi truck carrying the chickens crashed while driving north on I-5 in the DuPont area.

The right lane on I-5 is closed while troopers gather living chickens and clean up dead chickens. The left lane is still open.
