Holiday festivities officially kick off in Harrisburg on Saturday with the Cargill Holiday Parade.
The parade will wind its way through the downtown starting at 10 a.m. It will feature giant balloons, marching band and dance team performances, decorated floats, characters and Santa Claus.
This year’s theme is “Deck the Paws,” a nod to everyone’s favorite pets.
The parade route starts at Front and Market Streets, proceeds along Market Street, turns left on Second Street and then left on North Street, ending on Front Street.
As for parking, street parking rates are in effect. The Market Square Garage is $10 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. courtesy of Park Harrisburg.
Starting at 7 a.m., the Market Street Bridge and Second and Front Streets will be closed from Market to Forster Streets.
