MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A former realtor is accused stealing thousands after agreeing with a woman to help her manage a Midtown property.
According to court documents, a woman reported in September that she had hired 40-year-old Joshua Spotts to help manage a triplex on Morrison Street in Midtown.
The woman told police that she and Spotts had a contractual agreement under which Spotts would collect rent and security deposits from tenants, set aside reserve money for maintenance and upkeep, and deposit those funds into the property’s bank account.
According to the complaint, Spotts did not deposit the collected rent, security deposits or reserve funds and stopped communicating after the owner sent a demand letter requesting the missing money.
Police say the amount taken was just over $14
