Everything you need to know about Andy Burnham's £1bn Good Growth Fund

Andy Burnham has unveiled a £1bn plan promising every Greater Manchester borough its own cut of the economic growth that's transformed the city. The GM Good Growth Fund will start by backing more than 30 projects across the city-region .

The new 'bold and prudent' plan will see proceeds from more lucrative investments, predominantly in and around the city centre, help fund projects in places that have been left behind. The mayor hopes it will help close Greater Manchester's own north-south divide with developments in Oldham town centre, Prestwich Village and at Wigan Pier among the first to benefit.
