The government has made a big decision for all labourers and employees in the country, implementing four new labour codes starting Friday. The essential provisions from the previous 29 different labour laws have been extracted and transformed into 4 easy and clear rules.

The aim of these new rules is to provide every worker with timely and overtime wages, minimum wage, equal opportunities and salary for women, social security, and free health check-ups. Under the new law, employees will receive gratuity benefits in just 1 year instead of 5.

The government states that the old labour laws were enacted between 1930 and 1950, when work, industry, and technology were completely different from today. The new codes have been formulated keeping modern needs and international standards in mind. T
