SAN AUGUSTINE, Texas (KTRE) - According to the San Augustine Police Department, a multi-county manhunt ended after a man accused of assault led police on a chase and crashed into a police vehicle before wrecking his own.

The police department said early in the morning on Thursday officers responded to a home on North Milam Street.

Zhikavan Martyce Wilson, 31, who was out on bond for an assault that happened on Tuesday, was at the home of the previous incident which is in violation of a protective order, the release said.

The caller reported that she could hear Wilson inside the home and was aware he was prohibited from being there, the release said. Before officers arrived, Wilson left the home.
