Today the Manchester music scene is still reeling from the shock death of Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield. The Stone Roses and Primal Scream bassist died at his home in the Heatons, Stockport yesterday aged 63.
As one half of the Roses’ inimitable rhythm section, Mani’s fluid, funky bass inspired a generation of indie kids to get up and dance.
