SAULT STE. MARIE — Vanessa Swerdon, a senior setter at Lake Superior State University, received an Honorable Mention All-GLIAC award, as announced by the league on Friday.

Swerdon, originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, demonstrated exceptional passing and leadership throughout the 2025-26 season. She achieved 100% passing efficiency during the first six matches and maintained perfect passing in the final eight contests.

Her defensive contributions included 125 digs, and she scored eight service aces in the last six matches.

Swerdon averaged 4.08 assists per set over 71 sets and 1.76 digs per set.

Swerdon showcased her skills at the Mankato Tournament on September 13th, delivering 23 assists and seven digs against Minnesota-Crookston. She achieved a season-high nine digs in matches
