LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky State Rep. T.J. Roberts, R-Burlington, is working on a bill to require all Kentucky state police agencies to enter into agreements with federal immigration enforcement.
During a meeting of the Interim Joint Committee on Local Government on Thursday, Roberts argued that by agreeing with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, it would give law enforcement across the state access to federal resources and money.
Roberts called the agreement an “incredible opportunity” to promote public safety and align Kentucky with the priorities of the federal government.
