WASHINGTON, D.C. — Grammy-winning rapper and founding member of the hip-hop trio Fugees, Pras Michel (aka Prakazrel Samuel Michel), 52, was sentenced on Thursday to 14 years in federal prison for orchestrating a scheme to funnel foreign funds into U.S. political campaigns and influence government investigations, the Associated Press reported .

Michel was convicted in April 2023 of 10 criminal counts, including conspiracy to defraud the United States, acting as an unregistered foreign agent, providing false statements and witness tampering in connection with an international influence-peddling operation, Entertainment Weekly reported .
