A Monessen couple faces charges after a 2-year-old child in their care overdosed on cocaine and fentanyl.
Police in Monessen investigated the home after the child was taken to a hospital and tested positive for the drugs on Oct. 4, according to a statement from the Westmoreland County district attorney’s office.
At the house, they found several glassine baggies and obtained a search warrant.
The district attorney’s statement said police found a blue glassine baggie, a smoking pipe, two stamp bags, a scale, several small baggies containing a powdery residue and a case of marijuana cartridges.
Officers field-tested the residue in the baggies and received a positive result for cocaine.
