The Kiwanis Club of Pembroke has officially kicked off its 2025 Christmas Toy and Food Drive, marking the sixth year for a campaign that has become a seasonal lifeline for many local families. Over its first five years, the initiative has raised more than $220,000 to help ensure children across Pembroke and area experience a brighter Christmas.

This year’s launch took place at the Pembroke Mall, where Kiwanians and supporters gathered to get the drive underway. Pembroke Mayor Ron Gervais, who is also a Kiwanian, stepped forward with the first cash donation alongside city CAO David Unrau of the Rotary Club, followed by contributions from several organizations eager to give the campaign an early boost.
