NEW DELHI: Chief Justice B.R. Gavai, who retires tomorrow, said he never viewed the post of Chief Justice as a position of power. Yesterday was his last sitting day. He shared his thoughts during the ceremonial bench held for his farewell, sitting with designated Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice K. Vinod Chandran. Gavai said he considered the role of Chief Justice as an opportunity to serve the nation. This was also his belief during his years as a practising lawyer and later as a judge of the High Court and the Supreme Court.
