Moment killers attack man with screwdriver for his watch and are later arrested

This is the moment a killer attacks a man in a Birmingham car park in a botched attempt to steal his wrist watch.

Neil O’Donnell had just pulled into a rehabilitation centre off Cateswell Road in Hall Green on Wednesday, May 14 this year at around 2.30pm.

The 83-year-old was about to visit his partner when career criminal Tony Griffin, who was armed with what was believed to be screwdriver, ran up to his car and tried to grab the watch.

Neil managed to fend Griffin off and he was chased away by staff.

Neil was treated in hospital for an arm injury caused by Griffin grappling with him and later discharged.

But tragically his health deteriorated, and he died from complications arising from an infection
