One of King Charles' residences has been forced to undergo a change to planned scheduling as extreme weather pummels Britain.

Balmoral Castle in Scotland, which was said to be the favourite home of Queen Elizabeth II, alerted visitors to its closure on Thursday after snow battered the UK.

There was also a delay to the day's schedule at the royal establishment today due to the chilly conditions.

A spokesperson for the site wrote on Instagram: "Due to the continuing wintry weather conditions, Balmoral will be closed to the public for the remainder of the day. Tomorrow’s opening (Friday, 21st November) will be delayed until 11:00am.
