DES MOINES, Iowa ( KCCI ) - A new external investigation report provides new details regarding the hiring process for former Des Moines Superintendent Ian Roberts.
Roberts led Iowa’s largest school district, starting in July of 2023.
Federal immigration officers arrested Roberts in September on allegations that he was in the country illegally.
He was subsequently charged with falsely claiming U.S. citizenship in his employment forms and possession of a firearm.
Roberts resigned from the district within days of his arrest. He is currently being held at the Polk County Jail and awaiting trial in March.
The report was released by district officials on Friday. The firm, Dickinson and Bradshaw, provided a 13-page document of its investigation and the results.
