Two dozen Target stores in the Twin Cities are now carrying Krispy Kreme doughnuts from the chain's new Fridley location.

The week-old shop started distributing fresh boxes of a glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts every other day to 24 Target stores on Wednesday. Additional stores will begin carrying them in early December.

A company spokesperson says "Target will be the only retailer in the Twin Cities carrying Krispy Kreme through the month of November."

There was an strong turnout last Wednesday as Krispy Kreme opened at 5696 University Ave. NE in Fridley, with its first customers getting in line as early as noon the day before.
