CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WWBT) - Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. received his sentenced on Friday for shooting and killing three University of Virginia football players more than three years ago.
Judge Cheryl Higgins sentenced Jones with life in prison for three first-degree murder charges and two aggravated malicious wounding charges. He also faces a total of eight years for felony gun charges.
Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis Jr. and D’Sean Perry were shot and killed on a bus as they returned to Grounds from a class field trip on Nov. 13, 2022.
Two other students, Mike Hollins and Marlee Morgan, were also injured in the shooting.
The court heard from a psychologist and people who were on the bus during the time of the murders on Thursday. This includes a female classmate of Jones who he had
