A school has praised the "courage" of hero teachers and "resilience" of students involved in a horror bear attack that left two people fighting for their lives and multiple others injured.

The massive predator descended on a group of pupils and teachers as they embarked on a hiking trail in Bella Coola, a community in British Columbia, Canada . According to local reports, the BC Emergency Health Services received a call to the hiking trail, near Highway 20, at around 1.46pm on November 20 following an "animal attack".
