A farm worker was strangled to death in a hen-feeding machine after his clothes were caught in the mechanism because a 50p screw was missing.

Alban Watts was killed while working for egg producer Bell Mount Farming Limited in Penrith, Cumbria , in January 2023. The 61-year-old, who lived in the village of Blencow, was strangled when his clothes became caught in a hen feeding system at the farm.
