CLARKSVILLE, Ind. — The Clarksville Police Department is reminding the community to bring all their pets when they move out – including the alligators.
In a social media post Thursday, Kentuckiana Scaletuary said the police department contacted the nonprofit earlier this week after finding a young American Alligator abandoned in an apartment.
“Just another day in Kentuckiana,” the wildlife rehabilitation center based in Scottsburg, Ind. wrote.
The alligator was found free roaming in the apartment and being fed chicken nuggets, the post continued.
It's since been taken in by a local family who offered to keep the alligator, named "Zilla," until the wildlife center can find it a permanent home.
