Matalan has urgently recalled two of its soft toys, Squishy Dino Egg and Squishy Unicorn Egg, due to a 'serious microbiological' risk. These popular moulded eggs, available in various colours, contain an "aqueous solution", beads, and a plastic dinosaur or unicorn.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards has issued a warning that these toys pose a significant microbiological and choking hazard as they can easily burst, releasing small parts and the solution.
