COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) -South Carolina officials unveiled a new strategy Friday aimed at reducing dementia risk among older adults as the state braces for a historic demographic shift: by 2030, seniors will outnumber children for the first time, according to the state.
The initiative centers on a dementia prevention toolkit designed for senior centers across the state. Advocates say the resource offers practical steps to keep aging minds active and healthy.
“If I had one word to describe today, it’s action,” said Andrew Boozer, Executive Director of Senior Resources.
